[Nhcoll-l] color laser printer for cardstock?

Hi Bill,
hi Andy,

well, the answer is not that easy, I guess. The paper conservators
recommended laser printing with high quality toner for dry labels. As
Andy said, this surely does not work for fluid labels.

Also, as printing is always the combination of printer (imprinting
method) and printing medium (quality of the paper or cardstock), there
might be different results. It would surely be worth to target for
archival quality of the paper or cardstock, but you have to keep in mind
that this archival "standard" only applies for the top and bottom layer
of the sheet, but not for the pulp in between.

It might be worth to contact paper conservators or libraries, to figure
out what paper or cardstock they could recommend, and then check for a
suited printer (maybe there is some experience in archival dry labels in
libraries).

So no direct answer to your question, I am afraid, but I hope it helps

Dirk
