Interested in 3D scanning and printing? Tune in this afternoon (March 9th) at 3pm eastern (2pm central) for a webinar by Dana Ehret (U. of Alabama), who will be presenting a demo of 3D technologies for the iDigBio Paleo Digitization Working Group Webinar series.

Dana Ehret (Curator of Paleontology), joined by Jamey Grimes (Instructor of Art) and Carissa Clay (Undergraduate Student), will demonstrate how they are using 3D scanning and printing technology to copy fossils from the University Alabama collections for outreach and for preservation. In this webinar, they will discuss the equipment they use, how they use it, and the applications of the scans and 3D prints to teach about paleontology, evolution, and technology at the University of Alabama and the Alabama Museum of Natural History.
