[Nhcoll-l] Freezers for Incoming Herbarium Specimen Pest Control

Dear Colleagues:

We would like to purchase a new freezer for treating our incoming herbarium materials. The research we have read indicates that a freezer capable of holding -20°C to -25°C is sufficient, but, perhaps, new research suggests that -30°C with manual defrost would be a better choice.

Due to space considerations, we would prefer an upright, double-door freezer.

Does anyone have recommendations for freezers/vendors and further insights on current research in this area?

Thanks,
Kent
