[Personal_archives] SISPA AGM

Good morning,

The annual meeting of the SISPA at ACA 2008 was an unqualified success according to everyone I spoke with.  From my perspective it was the liveliest and most engaging meeting we've had to date. 
 
Discussion included: 
*		the success of the listserv discussion (and potential future guests)
*	 	the possibility of an ACA institute on Personal Archives 
*		the potential for a "summit" on the issues surrounding personal archives with sections in other associations around the 	world
*		"profiling" or systematizing approaches to personal archives creators and the potential unsuitability of this approach
*		the compelling issues surrounding digital personal archives and new strategies for appraisal, selection, description and 	preservation.

So, if you weren't able to make it, we're sorry you missed it.  

Heather Dean has drafted the minutes and will be sending these out to you shortly.  If you have any questions or comments about the items outlined in the minutes, feel free to extend the discussion to the list.  If you did attend the meeting and have ammendments to the minutes, please get in touch with Heather Dean.  

I think that everyone feels SISPA is under real momentum.  I, for one, am very excited by all the comments generated by both the listerv discussion and the AGM roundtable.
