Hi all,

I don't believe this made it through the listserv, so re-posting, apologies if I got that wrong.

Subject: SISPA - Day of Digital Wonder

Hello SISPA members -

This year we are combining our forces with TAATU to have a day of digital wonder. There will be folks on hand from the Digital Humanities Summer Institute that regularly runs in Victoria who will be sharing some of their work with us and there are some issues specific to personal archives that are already on the agenda which is great to see.

To sign up for TAATU and see how the day is shaping up please go to the Google doc here<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1SdAUlbT-WaNLhNKTyF3S_AAK2NSI9uvLw030gsd9ie8/edit?usp=sharing> and add your name to the list. I would encourage everyone to sign up for a lightening talk (though there is only one or two spaces left). I am thinking that as a group we could volunteer to lead a brainstorming session. We can all jump in as they are a general free for all. Jeremy and I have been talking about digital humanities in the academy and the role of archives with regards to uses and responsibilities, advocacy potential, role of archivist as educator, etc as there have been projects happening on our campus and we're interested to know what others are doing or thinking about in this area. If anyone else wants to participate with ideas or questions it would be welcomed OR if there is a suggestion for a better brainstorming topic, please share with the group and we can go from there.

At the lunch hour we will have a quick administrative meeting (TASIS is doing the same) and get the official part out of the way. Shouldn't take too long. I will be standing in as Chair for Catherine as she is unable to join us this year.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Heather
