Hello all,
Here’s a job opening at the Allen Institute in Seattle<https://alleninstitute.org/>, with the Education and Engagement Team. Perhaps you or someone that you know is interested and would be a good candidate for the position?
https://alleninstitute.org/careers/jobs/?jobId=a7a18af0-6ee9-5da6-d545-cd41254ccbec
A quick description from the advertisement:
“The Education & Engagement Coordinator is a key member of the Education & Engagement Program team, part of the Communications department. The team produces educational and training resources that promote the use of the Allen Institute’s open scientific resources to working scientists, PK-12 and college students/instructors/institutions, and the public. The Program encompasses all Allen Institute research including neuroscience, cell biology, immunology, and more.
The Coordinator will assist and support teammates in the development and execution of events, materials, and other resources across the Program portfolio. Working with a designated project lead, projects include: plan and execute live and virtual events; prepare training and educational materials for publication; maintain web resources such as webinars, website content, and resource libraries; organize logistics for conference booths; and supporting team organization of emails, supplies, etc. They will partner with teammates to support the development, planning, and execution of the Allen Institute Teacher Academy; Allen Institute booths at conferences; public events; and other engagements.
The ideal candidate has some experience with educational events, educational settings, or scientific events/conferences. No prior scientific expertise in the Allen Institute’s areas of knowledge is required.
The Allen Institute believes that team science significantly benefits from the participation of diverse voices, experiences and backgrounds. High-quality science can only be produced when it includes different perspectives. We are committed to increasing diversity across every team and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply for this role.”
Thanks for thinking about it and passing it along.
Wishing you a terrific day,
Omar
