[WTI-trainee] Mentorship Opportunity – Seeds of Success STEMM Ambassadors Program

Hi everyone,

My Yale Ciencia Initiative team at YSM is looking for female-identifying scientists interested in mentoring local middle school students through our NIH-funded Seeds of Success program<https://ciencia.yale.edu/programs/seeds-success>. We are especially interested in Spanish, Creole, and Pashto speakers!

Seeds of Success is a 1 year out-of-school program that empowers local middle-school students with science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM) exploration experiences, relatable female role models, and place-based STEMM outreach projects. Our long-term goal is to empower more women and girls to pursue careers in the STEMM professions.

We are seeking a diverse group of female-identifying mentors who can offer guidance, encouragement, and real-world insights into STEMM. Mentors will receive training, and lead 2-4 after-school group mentoring sessions. We welcome Yale STEMM graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduate students (3rd year onwards or with 1 or more years of research experience) with a passion for mentoring, and excitement for STEMM careers. This is a unique opportunity to be a role model for young girls and help foster the next generation of female STEM leaders.
