Booklist called Fun Home, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle award, "one of the very best graphic novels ever." Alison Bechdel is also the author of the celebrated bi-weekly syndicated comic strip "Dykes to Watch out For." In publication since 1983, and now featured in over 50 alternative newspapers and publications, the strip has been collected in twelve full-length books, several of which have won awards in humor writing and gay and lesbian literature. She writes occasional pieces for Ms., Slate, The Village Voice, The Advocate, Out, and other newspapers, web sites, comic books and 'zines.
