Dear NACO catalogers,

I'm sure you are all aware of the RLIN21 training classes being taught
by Shaundolyn Slaughter. Some of you may even be going to the first of
those classes today. In case there is any confusion, I just wanted to
emphasize that Shaundolyn's class focuses primarily on searching the
bibliographic file for acquisitions and copy cataloging work. It does
not cover authority file searching.

The NACO Coordinating Committee is preparing an "RLIN21 for NACO work"
training session that will cover authority file searching, searching the
bibliographic file for NACO purposes, and the creation and update of
NACO records.

Once RLG has converted the authority files, issued the NACO-enabled
client software, and announced its cutoff date for the old client, we
will be able to complete our training materials and schedule some
training dates.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
