[yul-naco] Okay to create NACO records if received "push"

Dear NACO catalogers,

You should all have the new NACO files that were pushed out last night. How
can you tell if you have them? After logging on to your RLIN21 NACO
account, click on:

Action-->Create--Select Template

and you should see a long list of templates that begin with "AUT" (meaning
authorities). There are 3 templates for each of the MARC organization codes
that we use at Yale (CtY, CtY-BA, CtY-BR, etc.). The three templates
include: one personal name, one corporate name, and series; they are
configured like this:
http://www.library.yale.edu/cataloging/authorities/rlin21templates.htm

If you don't see these authority templates, do NOT do any NACO work. Call
me so we can figure out what may have gone wrong with the push.

If you *do* see these templates, it is okay to go ahead and start
creating/inputting authority records.

Please note that the default template for each account is the personal name
record that corresponds to the MARC organization code for that unit.
Action-->Create (or cntrl-N) will call up this template. The only exception
to this is for the nonroman units; their default template/logon is for bib
work (nonroman NACO catalogers should see me or their team leader for
special instructions on their slightly different setup).

I would definitely write down the ID# of any NACO record you create or
print out the record (at least for the first week while we see how things
go). Because new records are not immediately retrievable using "st s" or
pending heading searches, this may be the only way to call up your saved
record.

Finally, if you would find it easier, you may go into "My Computer" on your
machine and delete all of the RLIN21 authority templates except the 3 that
you need. Let me know if you need help finding them or ask your expert user
to do it for you.

Let me know if you have questions or problems. Good luck!

-Manon
