NACO catalogers:

I'm sure you all saw the pointer to the latest update from RLG that Joan
posted to YULIB this morning. Below are some of the authorities-related
details from the update page:

-Manon

----------------------------------------------------
Required client update coming.
Sometime during May 19-23 we will release a new version of the client that
must be installed before you can continue working. You'll see this
new-release update presented at logon. A note will also appear in this page
and in e-mail to rlg-services-forum and the RLIN21 client administrators.
—Please check with your RLIN21 client administrator when you see the alert.
—This new version of the client provides expanded help, allows setting
Saved status as the default for your record entry and update, and supports
NACO name authority work.

Service interruption.
Please be prepared for an effective two- to three-day suspension of
authorities input that will begin Wednesday May 18 at 9:00 p.m. and last
until Monday May 23 or Tuesday May 24 at 12:01 a.m. PDT (UTC-7).
—During this input suspension, users can still search the LC/SACO Authority
File (LCSAF).
—The LC/NACO Authority File (NAF) will still be searchable until Friday May
20 at 9:00 p.m. PDT; then this service will also be suspended until the
23rd or 24th.
—Full service will resume just as May 23—or May 24—begins (PDT); input will
require the RLIN21 client.
—The client will contain extensive help; documentation will also be coming
on the Web.
