Dear NACO catalogers,

Just a reminder that there will be a 2-3 day moratorium on NACO record
creation/update in RLIN starting on Thursday, May 19. RLG has assured us
that all saved records with a "last-updated" date of less than 60 days will
be migrated and will be immediately available for update as soon as the
moratorium is lifted and we begin working in RLIN21 next week.

This would be a good time to check your save files and make sure you don't
have any old NACO records floating around. Produce them if you can;
otherwise update them if they are getting close to the 60-day cut-off.

Many thanks,

-Manon

=================================

RLIN21 client coming.
Sometime during May 19-23, you will be notified that the RLIN21 client
version enabling you to contribute records in the migrated LC/NACO
Authority File (NAF) is ready for downloading.
—If you are already working with the RLIN21 client software, you'll
received the required update at logon.

Authorities service interruption.
Please be prepared for an effective two- to three-day suspension of
authorities input that will begin Wednesday May 18 at 9:00 p.m. and last
until Monday May 23 or Tuesday May 24 at 12:01 a.m. PDT (UTC-7).
—During this input suspension, users can still search the LC/SACO Authority
File (LCSAF).
—The LC/NACO Authority File (NAF) will still be searchable until Friday May
20 at 9:00 p.m. PDT; then this service will also be suspended until the
23rd or 24th.
—Full service will resume just as May 23—or May 24—begins (PDT); input will
require the RLIN21 client.
—The client will contain extensive help; documentation will also be coming
on the Web.
