Subject: [OCLC-CAT] OFFICIAL: Authority related problems following 9/23 install
Apologies for duplication; the message below will be cross-posted to various listservs.
Following the Connexion install on 9/22/2013 that included changes to resolve changes introduced to authorities browsing as part of a previous install, two problems have been reported—one impacting the Connexion Browser, the other impacting Connexion Client 2.40.
CONNEXION BROWSER
A system alert (http://www.oclc.org/support/systemalerts.en.html?urlm=168704) was posted on 9/26 for the problem impacting the Connexion Browser:
Using the Connexion Browser, if a bibliographic record contains partially controlled headings, some controlling information is lost when the record is added to the online save file.
CONNEXION CLIENT
The problem impacting the Connexion Client affects the landing position when executing an expanded browse search. An example is when browsing for united states, and from the root list, entering the term history in the expanded intake box. Until this problem is resolved, if you shorten the word, for example, enter: his in the expanded intake box and the landing position will include the entries for $x History.
Thank you for your patience as staff work to resolve the two issues above; a message will be posted to appropriate listservs when the issues have been resolved.
Please contact OCLC-Support at support at oclc.org<mailto:support at oclc.org> with any questions or concerns related to this announcement.
