Hello list,
I became aware of some info this week that perhaps others already know, but in case not...
When exporting, I had been under the impression that when I chose "Download EAD" with the "Include unpublished" box checked, this would have the effect of including any inadvertently unpublished archival objects in the final finding aid (objects that didn't have their "Publish" box checked.) It turns out that the unpublished items do get downloaded but they are suppressed in the public finding aid in YFAD. Therefore I should have always used the "Publish All" function before exporting if I wanted to be sure that all the components appeared in the public finding aid.
Apparently in the new version of ArchivesSpace, the default is to have all archival objects published rather than unpublished, so this should make things easier going forward.
Experts, please correct me if I have explained this inaccurately.
Martha
