[Yale ArchivesSpace] TEST Upgrade Steps - Including Refresh of TEST DB After-Hours 6/18

Dear Colleagues,

We are excited to announce that we are now ready to upgrade our TEST instance of ArchivesSpace to 2.7.1. This will allow us to take advantage both of new features in this release as well as install plugins which have been developed for us in this year's development cycle. This impacts all parts of TEST ASpace (staff/public/API).

In order to perform this upgrade we will need to do the following:

  *   Refresh the TEST database with data from production
  *   Perform an upgrade of the application in TEST
  *   Perform a full reindex

Since we're hoping to be able to perform testing starting next week, and since we need the system back online for training next Thursday, the following timeline has been advanced:


  *   (6/18) Thursday after hours - TEST is refreshed with newest database from production
  *   (6/19) Friday morning - TEST is updated with the new application image and upgrade tasks begin
  *   (6/19) Friday (early) afternoon - Reindexing begins in TEST, completes by early next week

As part of the refresh, data that is unique to test is deleted - please save off data that you require from TEST before Thursday evening. All three parts of the TEST application (staff/public/API) will be unavailable for use between Thursday evening and early next week.
