Hello,
     Many of you are already registered for the Cataloging Forum on 
Wednesday Dec 14 from 9:30-11am in the SML Lecture Hall.  I originally set 
the forum capacity to 95 per instruction.  I did a count of the chairs, and 
added 4-5 seats if folks sat on the 2 benches, to bring the count up to 
about 102.  I have asked Andrew Gray in Library Administration to increase 
the capacity from 95-102 and to immediately bring the first 7 staff off the 
wait list.  Hopefully this will happen this morning.  I don't know for 
certain, but if you were on the wait list and then were added, you may 
receive an email explaining what happened.  I am hoping at least, that this 
happens so the first few people on the wait list know there is now room for 
them.
      I have also added a second Catalog Forum for this Friday Dec 16, from 
9:30-11am in SML Room 409.  I set the capacity to 25 as I believe that is 
what the room can comfortably hold.  I asked that Andrew take the next 25 
staff on the waiting list and move them to Friday's session first.  I heard 
last week second hand that there may be about 32 staff on the wait list.  I 
don't actually see the class lists, so I cannot confirm.  I would also hope 
that if any staff on the wait list cannot attend on the 16th, that their 
names would not be lost.  I will try to arrange a session for the remaining 
staff still in need of a 5.0 Overview.  I have a total of 8 presentations 
to give this week, so additional scheduling may be the first-second week of 
January.
      Again, I hope these registration issues will finally be worked out 
this morning.  I am doing everything I can to facilitate this with Library 
Administration.  Thank you for your patience, and I hope you find the 
Catalog Forum worthwhile.
