1. The old training manual entitled Orbis2 Cataloging has been updated and
given a new title: Orbis Cataloging Using Voyager.

A link has been added to the update at the general Voyager policies and
procedures page:

http://www.library.yale.edu/cataloging/indexgeneral.htm

It is item 1. in the Voyager section.

Direct link:

Some noteworthy revisions:

a. Examples reflect Voyager 5.0. Editing guidelines are consistent with
Unicode compliant version of Voyager and incorporate the Voyager 5.0
guidelines for entering diacritics.
b. Common Macro Express shortcuts are given preference over labor intensive
menu-driven routines.
c. New, detailed guidelines and scenarios for using keyword and builder
searches to support cataloging.
d. More searching examples.
e. More Acq in Cat strategies, including how to view serial items received
on predictive checkin.

Recommended for supervisors or delegated trainers who need a thorough walk
through of Voyager cataloging features for new staff, and as a reference
source for experienced staff who want to learn about new features or need a
refresher on rarely used features. It is also hoped that by placing the
Macro Express shortcuts up front, more new staff will take advantage of them.

The document has been reviewed by the Cataloging Coordination Council and
the Catalog Policy and Documentation Committee, but if you notice any
sections that require correction or clarification, please let me know.
Presumably the document will require further updating when Voyager 6.0 is
available.

2. Cartographic links.

On the Cataloging at Yale:Special Formats page, a section on local
procedures for Cartographic Materials has been added (you will probably
need to scroll down toward the bottom of the page)

On the Tools & Resources page (Nonbook Cataloging), many additional
resource links have been added to the Cartographic Resources section:
