Hello, just wanted to make sure that everyone on this list is aware of what our post-RDA testing processing is for MARS. The option is in line with the current post RDA Test PCC Guidelines (see at: http://www.loc.gov/catdir/pcc/PCC-Post-RDA-Test.html)

Our records are being processed according to MARS RDA Option 4.5, and this is how it works:

-All of our bibliographic records (both AACR2 & RDA) are searched against AACR2 authority master file only (any authority record without 040 $e rda). RDA headings in the 7XX x4 in AACR2 master are included for matching purposes only. The matched heading will be flipped to the 1XX in the AACR2 master.

-If an AACR2 or RDA heading finds no match against the AACR2 authority master file, this option will check the unmatched heading against the RDA master. At this point in the process, the RDA master will consist of new RDA authorities with no equivalent in the AACR2 master (i.e., no 7XX x4 field is present).

Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, and send me any bib ids that do not conform to this option.

Thanks,

Éva
