Dear Fellow SPNHC Members,

As we all return from what is probably a much needed holiday break, people's thoughts are turning to springtime and our annual opportunity to meet with our colleagues, share our experiences, visit a new place, eat good food, and dance till we drop!!

We here at the California Academy of Sciences are very much looking forward to hosting this year's annual meeting, and to showing all of you our new museum and sharing with you all that the San Francisco Bay area has to offer.

The theme of this year's meeting will be Sustainable Museums/Sustaining Collections. As most of you know, our building has been certified as a LEED Platinum building by the Green Building Council, and we have implemented a lot of procedures and policies to make sure that we are operating the building in as sustainable a fashion as possible. We are looking forward to sharing our experiences and our new museum with all of you, and to hearing about all of the new developments at your institutions.

The meeting web site will be up early next week. We are working diligently to have it available by Tuesday, January 18th.

The meeting dates are May 23-28th, and the venue for most of the program will be the conference hotel....The Hotel Kabuki in the heart of Japantown. We have several great field trips and workshops planned, as well as an extended repeat of Demo Camp, which was so popular last year.

I will send out a list-serv announcement with a link to the web site, once we make sure that most of the kinks are out of it, so be looking for that next week.

See you in May!!
