For those of you who may have printer models similar to the one described
by the manual (URL below), perhaps your ribbon-transport problems may be
resolved by the manual's maintenance procedures ?

Dunno if this manual refers (sufficiently well) to your exact model, nor
whether you already have a Maintenance Manual for you printer. Maybe this
manual can give you some hints about adjustments beyond cleaning the print
head ?
