implications?

Greetings,
We're a fairly new Luna Insight site and trying to get our bearings with
respect to copyright issues / compliance. A faculty member in the art
history dept has converted a collection of contemporary art analog
slides to digital format and would like to make this collection
available as a local Insight Collection. We would, of course, limit
access to this collection to the campus, but I'm wondering about the
legal implications of doing this? My gut tells me that this should be
run by our legal counsel first.
I've reviewed the CONFU guidelines as well as those recommended by the
VRA, but I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has been involved in
decision-making on this kind of project.
Many thanks in advance, Debbie
