I was going to ask the same thing. I looked on the NHK web site after the
program was delayed and it said a rebroadcast date was still undecided.

The night after the busjacking, a documentary about a few of the young
animators at Studio Ghibli and their work on the new film was broadcast,
same time and channel. It wasn't extremely interesting but it reminded me
of something--a few weeks ago, there was a special on Channel 4 (not the
same as the 20 minute documentary in the theatre now) about "Princess
Mononoke's" foreign reception. It compared the film's release in America
and France but was fairly critical of the American audience and producers.
It basically made the point that the French viewers were open-minded and
interested in a subtitled Japanese version, while the Americans only wanted
to see an edited, Americanized, English-language version and still didn't
quite "get it" in the end. It felt pretty bitter towards the U.S., but I
believe the show was produced by Buena Vista. Did anyone else catch this?
Thoughts?

One more thing. I was at a video store the other day and a lot of the old
1960s Toei animation classics are available on tape for 2800 yen. I looked
at the release dates on a few of the boxes and some of them just came out
two or three months ago. Is Toei re-releasing these now? I'm not having
any luck finding info on the web site. (Some of the films aren't even
listed. "Alibaba," which I rented two days ago, is nowhere to be found.)
