Seijun Suzuki in Paris

The city of Paris is currently planning a major film project, in which 20 
international directors will each make a short film about one of the city's 
20 'arrondissements'.

Taking the helming duties for the 2nd is none other than Seijun Suzuki. He 
is to film a story about a Japanese woman who comes to Paris to search for 
her long lost love and instead encounters a mysterious drifter.

Sayuko Yamaguchi has been confirmed as lead actress, and the producers are 
hoping to convince Alain Delon to co-star. The film is set to go into 
production in the Autumn, but I've heard it might be delayed until December.

The line-up of directors for the project is quite a diverse one, including 
Woody Allen, Jean-Luc Godard, Tom Tykwer, Vincenzo Natali, Walter Salles and 
Asia Argento.
