Hong Kong VCD

Thanks for the various comments on VCDs.

It seems that Hong Kong DVDs cannot be played on a region 1 player, because
of the PAL encoding, but VCDs can, correct?

Taiwan, however is NTSC, so no problem there. However, the two times I have
been, it's been hard to come across VCDs or DVDs of non-Hollywood films--at
least of the kind I'm interested in.

seems to have a pretty good selection, and go to lengths to show which VCDs
have English subtitles. Has anyone ordered from them?
