Nobushiro suwa's new movie is what i would call a "work in progress". Part 
movie, part documentary, and the two are hardly possible to distinguish. 
Fiction merges with reality, and your are left with a lot of questions: what 
is part of the movie, what is "real"? Eventually, the answer itself is not 
so important.

What makes this picture an unusual experience (and some viewers were 
confused and baffled, or even angry at!) is that you are not so much the 
witness (and "voyeur") of the atempt to do a remake of alain resnai's 
"Hiroshima mon amour", but see a beautiful portrait of an actress (b?atrice 
dalle) and the difficulty of communicating with its director nobushiro suwa.

There are many other things to say about this film : the beautiful light by 
director of photography caroline champetier, the editing...and the probably 
the overlooked character of this picture : the city Hiroshima.
