Sony Pictures in Japan?

Can anyone shed light on Sony Pictures involvement in the Japanese film 
industry? They own half of Hollywood, but how active are they as producers 
in Japan? They certainly don't seem very prolific on their home turf. Do the 
trillions of yen of this Japanese megacorporation really only go into 
American blockbusters or can Japanese filmmakers get some structural 
benefits too?
