For what it's worth, here in Vancouver, the alterations to the film made
the front page of the largest local newspaper, the Vancouver Sun
(http://www.vancouversun.com), with a lengthy article surprisingly
critical of Disney's decision to alter the film (mind you, the author
summed up the original ending's theme as "America Overcame"! ^_^) Much was
made of the altered theatrical trailers, too, and the shifted emphasis
from "war film" to "romance" in the non-North American versions.

This is neither here nor there, but it's so rare to see anything even
_remotely_ connected with Asian cinema (and this qualifies through only
the slenderest of threads) headlining the local media...
