Hello: I am developing a course in Japanese-American relations for a university in Honolulu and am interested in obtaining copies of some of the Japanese pre-war and wartime films mentioned in John Dower's essay "Japanese Cinema Goes To War" in his book " Japan In War & Peace"(1993). I think students might benefit from viewing one or more of these films.
Can anyone who reads this message help me by providing leads/ideas for obtaining copies of the following films, preferably with English subtitles, in VHS video format::
1. "Army"(1944) ("Rikugun")
2. "China Night"(1940)("Shina no Yoru")
3. "The Divine Wind Blows"(1944)(("Kakute Kamikaze wa Fuku")
4. 'The Story of Tank Commander Nishizumi"(1940)("Nishizumi Sensacho-den")
5."Fighting Soldiers"(1939)("Tatakau Heitai")
6."Five Scouts"(1938)("Gonin no Sekkohei")
7. "Chocolate and Soldiers"("Chokoreto to Heitai")
8. "The War At Sea From Hawaii to Malaysia"
("Hawai Mare oki Kaisen")
Thank you very much.
