Ashiya Gannosuke

The news services reported that Ashiya Gannosuke, one of the deans of 
Osaka comedy, died on the 7th at the age of 72. Ashiya originally 
trained as a manzai comic, but turned to stage comedy where he won many 
awards for his performances. His most famous role was portraying the 
nomadic artist Yamashita Kiyoshi in _Hadaka no taisho_ on television, 
but he appeared in numerous films, including a film version of 
Yamashita's story.
