Sai Yoichi's QUILL opened in Hong Kong yesterday against COLLATERAL and
CATWOMAN, but still made it to the number one position in the daily
charts. It took about HK$630,000 (US$80,000) on 26 screens, although
only 2 cinemas showed the film in its original language. The Cantonese
dubbed version features local stars, including Gigi Leung and Tony
Leung Kar-fai.
Films in the number two and number three slot, local comedy THREE OF A
KIND and Hollywood's I, ROBOT respectively, were still screening on
over 40 screens in their second week on release.
