"Awadatsu Seishun" is a PR film about 53 minutes (the existing video is
about 50 minutes) Makno made for Dainippon Beer. Details can be found in the
article by Kamiya Makiko (a doctoral student at Nihon University now working
as a parttime researcher at the film center as well), who found the rare
video.

 I hope this helps.

Is this Awadatsu Seishun a feature-length film or a short?

    I can't find anything online about Makino's 1934 "Awadatsu
seishun" (Frothy/bubbling youth?) -- which will be an extra in the
deluxe
edition of the upcoming DVD set of "Oshidori utagassen". Anyone know of
a
    plot summary anywhere?

And speaking of "Oshidori utagassen", is the "oshidori" meant to invoke
"a
romantic couple/pair of (human) lovebirds" -- rather than the literal
    "mandarin duck"?
