It opened in theaters on July 6, 1996.

Fujiwara, who studied under Kara Juro, has changed the kanji in her 
name since appearing in some of Tsukamoto's early films like Tetsuo, 
but she runs her own theater troupe:

According to that site, her second film, Ido, is near completion.
