children consuming electronic technology in Japanese films? In Wakamatsu's "17sai no fuukei. Shonen ha nani wo mita no ka" the boy, who is fleeing after having killed his mother, plays game-boy.
By the way, Tsubokawa Takushi's "Utsukushiki tennen - Nuages d'hier" won the best film award at the Torino Film Festival, ex aequo with "Gravehopping" from the Slovenian director Jan Cvitkovic.

Subject: children consuming electronic technology in Japanese films?
Would anybody have suggestions for film images of Japanese children using electronic stuff, particularly as entertainment? Ozu's Ohayo on television & Nakata's Ringu for video come to mind. There are scenes in Koreeda's Daremo shiranai at a game parlor and with a TV game. I would be very grateful for any advice.
