By the way, it just so happens that my most recent article appeared on
Japan Focus yesterday:
"Fantasies of War and Nation in Recent Japanese Cinema"
The URL for Japan Focus is http://www.japanfocus.org/
While Japan Focus is a great resource about Japan, it has long tilted
towards politics, economics and hard social issues. Mark Selden, the
editor, has wanted to do more articles on culture for some time, but
they have not always been coming his way. He recently added "Film,
Anime, Manga" to their subject headings and is hoping for more in that
area. Japan Focus is a refereed journal which straddles the academic
and hard journalism, so if you have an article on Japanese film, one
which especially concerns contemporary social and political issues that
non-film people would be interested in, please think of Japan Focus as
a place to publish. Japan Focus also posts articles originally
published elsewhere, as well as does translations of good Japanese
articles, so if you have an suggestions in that realm, contact me or
Mark.
