David Dinnell and I are bringing Matsumoto Toshio to this year's Ann
Arbor Film Festival. We've also invited Jonathan Hall to help with
the Q and A, Introductions, etc. I'll post a screening list when it's
nailed down.
I was, however, interested in gathering some information about the
initial screenings of For My Right Crushed Eye. This is Matsumoto's
three projector extravaganza, and really wonderful film that let's
you tap into the times like few films. I've read in a number of
places that flash bulbs were used in front of the screen to finish
off the film, but texts basically leave it at that. Does anyone have
any more first or second-hand information? Has anyone seen a
screening where it's been reproduced?
