Dear Kinejapanners, 

For those of you interested in Japanese documentary, the University of Tokyo Press has just released "Kiroku eiga archives vol. 2" titled 「戦後復興から高度成長へ　民主教育・東京オリンピック・原子力発電」. The volume comes with a DVD, there are some "big" names in it: Kuroki Kazuo, Tsuchimoto Noriaki, Hani Susumu, Haneda Sumiko, etc., although all of their works here are PR movies.

I have to say that the first volume, 「岩波映画の1億フレーム」　
was quite good (but unfortunately deadly expensive):
