[Gerow Aaron]

The film director Nakajima Sadao died on June 11 at the age of 88. Entering the Toei studio in 1959, he debuted as a director in 1964 and made 63 films ranging from yakuza to samurai films, including a film in 2019 in his eighties. I have shown his 893 Gurentai in class and it is a masterpiece. Nakajima also was a professor at the Osaka University of the Arts and was general producer of the Kyoto Film Festival for 15 years. He won several awards for his career in film. R.I.P.
