Yale is conducting a search for a ladder faculty position in comparative television culture. Since this should include at least one non-Anglophone TV culture, the search is open to a broad range of TV research, including that on East Asia.

Position Description  
The Program in Film and Media Studies at Yale University seeks to hire a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Comparative Television Culture, beginning July 1, 2024. The successful applicant should be a scholar with expertise in two or more television cultures, at least one of them non-Anglophone, and should be able to teach the history of television from broadcasting to digital streaming. We welcome applications from scholars with a secondary focus in areas such as race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality, class and national identity, comparative arts, infrastructure, creative industries, diaspora and migration, internet culture, sound, and area studies. 

Qualifications  
 
The appointee must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree or have completed all requirements for the Ph.D. by June 2024.Fluency in the languages most relevant to the appointee’s specialized areas of research is expected.
