Nemophora degeerella (Family Adelidae)
This pretty moth flies by day and the males, which have very long antennae,
dance in groups much like midges. I'd like to know:-
- its distribution;
- the explanation for this behaviour, if anyone can provide one;
- what related species exist.
My specimens were spotted in north Worcestershire, England, in early June
this year.
