I was in Oaxaca City, Mexico, a couple of months ago, and venders at the
market were selling grasshoppers as food. Each vendor had a barrel of small
orthopterans, mostly without legs, and heavily dusted with what looked like
cayene pepper or chilli powder. I bought a peso's worth, but despite a decade
of entomological training, I couldn't do it. So I bought a tee shirt that
says I eat them instead.
