It's not that unusual. My A. io larvae always wander single file from "the old dead leaf" to the new fresh ones. That part about them all rising together is new to me. Maybe he just wandered into choreography practice on the latest jungle lepidopteran munsical. He probably missed the Cockroach symphony band off to the left....
