Erythroxylum havanense

I would like to try growing Erythroxylum havanense for the purpose of
rearing a particular butterfly. The plant is native to Central America
including Costa Rica. E. havanense contains cocaine alkaloids and is in the
same family as Erythroxylum coca, a plant used to process cocaine. To my
knowledge, E. havanense is not used to process cocaine.

Are there any legal or permit issues for growing in the U.S., 2-3 plants of
the Costa Rican Erythroxylum havanense plant?

Thanks,

Jim
