So what is the deal? Is the checklist site less than 100% accurate, or
are you folks in Florida not taking the time to record and report the
more common butterflies?
Is anybody interested in my records?

The entries on the site are coordinated by Paul Opler and are subject to
renewal based on the following rules, as is stated on the main page:

Submitting New County Records

New county records, unless for an immediately recognizable species, are
based on museum specimens, authoritative monographs or other publications,
or from recognized experts. We will accept new county records as long as
they have been confirmed by a recognized expert or are accompanied by a
voucher specimen or a recognizable photograph. To have your records
confirmed by a local expert, we suggest contacting the nearest university or
college's entomology department or a member of The Lepidopterists' Society.

Voucher specimens should be deposited in any institutional [college,
university, museum] collection. If none is available specimens may be sent
to Gillette Museum of Entomology, Colorado State University, Fort Collins,
CO 80523. Make sure they are packaged properly. If in doubt, write the
Gillette Museum for instructions. Voucher photos may be sent to Dr. Paul A.
Opler, c/o Midcontinent Ecological Science Center, 4512 McMurry Drive, Fort
Collins, CO 80525.

The following individuals are specifically credited for assistance with data

The moth section of the web site has some obvious omissions also. Perhaps
someone could step up and assist with the compilation/revision of state
records so the site could be improved.
