What's in a name ---conclusion

I suspect that most people have identified the pattern in the previous 
table. 

When I had the temerity to point out that all the mammals were 
susceptible and all the non-mammals were not,  he looked at the slide, 
long enough to convince me (and the audience) that he wasn't sure which 
were mammals and which were not. 

And here we are worried about subspecific and species relationships.
