Wood Nymphs: banner year? ?

I guess I should have clarified my semantics - we had a "banner year'
"HERE" (Wood Nymphs) after approx. 10+ years where they're usually seen
later in the year and never so numerous - I hike the same area around Mount
Diablo State Park. just in our regular count circle - NOT that I meant it
to pertain GLOBALLY! Sorry for the generality! (Also it's been great for
fritillaries - that I tend to give credit to El Nino/La Nina for keeping
the violets healthy!
