Cecropia

Yesterday, a friend gave me what I believe to be a Cecropia hyalophora
caterpillar. This morning it was already beginning to spin a cocoon and
by late afternoon it had pretty much finished. I am an elementary
school science teacher and would like to be able to show my students the
emerging adult moth. I know that the pupa can be kept refrigerated
until the spring, but am hazy about the details, especially concerning
timing. Can anyone help me out here?
