Hola Chris et al:

I have actually observed the "cracking" in H. feronia and H. fornax but only 
in Mexico.  I mostly encounter H. februa in S. Texas but those Texans just 
dont ever crack.  They tend to flush from the trunks and crack in Mexico, 
this often gives them away and allows you to move in on their position.  
Maybe H. februa actually has developed less specialization in this wing 
vocalization?
