In college (some years ago) I had conversations with a Lutheran minister about
"evolution".

He was untroubled by this. He believed that God (his God) had created the
evolutionary process and then sat back to watch it take its course.
He didn't rule out an occasional intervention (i.e. when a plague was called
for), but by and large didn't do (or wasn't interested in) the minute processes
of speciation.

Maybe he would have considered God a macro-evolutionist, and that it was the
higher categories that he Created, leaving them to be fruitful and multiply
(into different species).

This minister had other things to worry about (Faith) than sophmoric inquiries
into the nature of God.
