Do Pipevine Swallowtails need Malthus or movement?

The local Candian Tiger Swallowtails (both in Alaska and the Yukon) feed
on aspen. There can be a lot of Swallowtails--but there's also a _lot_ of
aspen, and the only thing I've seen up here noticeably defoliating aspen
is the Large Aspen Tortrix.
