Hessel's Hairstreak second brood in the Northeast

In preparing the text for BUTTERFLIES OF NEW JERSEY, we wrote the following:
"First brood late April-mid-May with a small and irregular second brood in
July."
I can't at this time explain where the latter piece of information came from as
there is not citation.
Although many of our data items were based on Comstock (1940) this doesn't apply
to Hessel's Hairstreak which was described in 1950.
Probably it reflects information from the New York City Butterfly Club which
includes both collectors and "watchers".

I'll ask around to see if we can find the basis for this statement.  By July the
Pine Barrens are pretty impoverished in terms of butterflies so a second brood
could be overlooked.

Interestingly the Olive Hairstreak does have two broods, although the spring
brood is very poorly represented in our area of Central NJ, and years go by
without my recording it before mid-July when it becomes common..
